In what several have described as "an historic moment", Wyman pianos were officially introduced to the piano industry at the 2004 NAMM Show in Anaheim January 15-18. The company display featured the new Wyman Pianoforte 5' 7" grand piano, Model WG170 Polished Ebony, as well as a stunning new Wyman furniture style console, Model WV110 French Provincial Sable Cherry. Both new pianos are part of the new Wyman line that is comprised of four grand models and six vertical models. Each model is offered in a variety of popular styles and finishes. The beautiful new Wyman furniture style consoles offer proprietary American styling, clearly setting these models apart from other offerings from Asia.
Tim Laskey, Wyman president, commented, "We visited with many dealer friends we've made over the past 30+ years in the industry, and the dealer response at NAMM was very favorable and exceeded our expectations. Wyman is America's new piano value leader! We are offering a quality product at a great price point." George Benson, National Sales Manager, says, "Dealers love Wyman features and benefits that make the product a very attractive buy for their customers. Plus our personalized customer service and support is unique in the piano industry today."
Wyman pianos all feature beautifully finished sand-cast plates and TriPhonic Spruce soundboards for optimum tone and durability. The Wyman 19-ply wrestplank offers superior tuning stability. Wyman strings are made from premium Roslau music wire from Germany, and Wyman piano hammers are constructed from Japanese felt, resulting in the pleasing Wyman piano tone. All Wyman pianos feature bridges and actions constructed from hard rock maple, long used in pianos costing much more. TriPhonic cantilevered bass bridges used in Wyman Pianoforte grands afford maximum bass performance. Tri-laminated spruce keys offer perfect key spacing and alignment for years of trouble free performance. Other cosmetic enhancements make the Wyman piano a beautiful addition to the décor of any home.
Wyman Piano Company is a new piano venture created in 2002 by Tim Laskey and George Benson, both experienced former Baldwin executives with more than 50 years combined piano industry experience. All Wyman Pianoforte models are based on proven German scale designs, and are manufactured in a state-of-the-art factory in China. The Wyman factory has produced pianos since 1949, and now has an annual output that exceeds 40,000 pianos per year. Laskey said, "Wyman execs make frequent trips to the factory to personally discuss production plans, monitor products in process for quality, and inspect finished instruments. This collaborative effort across international boundaries is key to fulfilling the Wyman promise of quality and value."For additional information, see www.wymanpiano.com.
